Volunteer's marathon effort goes the distance for change
For the second consecutive year, dedicated volunteer Elke Webber is lacing up her running shoes and going the extra distance — 21.1 kilometers to be exact — to support CPJP’s work challenging the death penalty worldwide.
Elke will be participating in the Brisbane half-marathon on 1 June with a goal of raising $2,000 to fund our advocacy efforts, legal support initiatives, and educational campaigns aimed at abolishing capital punishment globally.
"We are incredibly grateful for Elke's commitment to our cause," said CPJP’s Chair, Stephen Keim SC. "Her dedication demonstrates how individual action can create meaningful change in our ongoing fight for compassion and human dignity."
Last year, Elke's successful fundraising run provided vital resources that allowed us to dedicate time to case work, a critical aspect of our mission that remains underfunded. These efforts directly supported individuals facing capital punishment and helped strengthen our legal advocacy initiatives.

Join us in cheering Elke on as she races towards a future without the death penalty!
